XLplus Add-On: Select By Rule
This XLplus Add-Ons allows selecting columns or rows by a simple rule.
The tool is created as an easy to use Wizard which supports you in creating your tasks. It is similar to the XLplus Add-On: Interval Select Wizard. Nevertheless, it allows different operations.
Whereas the XLplus Add-On: Interval Select Wizard is ideal for selecting every third, fourth or n-th column or row, this Wizard lets you create selections which consist of various contigeous cells.
What:
Specify what to select. You can select Columns or Rows. Additionally, specify the Amount of cells to select. For example, specify 3 in order to select three contigeous columns or rows.
Where:
Specify, where columns or rows will be selected. By default, the tool will identify and suggest the active cell. A selection will be created starting with the First Cell specified.
You can use 
in order to pick a new First Cell.
Rule:
Specify the Rule to use.
First specify the Distance between Selections. This might result in selecting 1 Column every third Column when specifying distance as 2.
Next specify how many selections shall be created. For example, set Create to 5 in order to create five single selections.
Finally, when creating selections by Column, specify the Number of Rows to select. This will change to Number of Columns to select when creating selections by Rows. For example, specify 4 in order to create a selection which spans 4 rows.
Options:
You can specify Optional Settings for the selection to make. Specify Keep Existing Selection in order to add your new selection to the actual selection of cells.
