XLplus Add-On: Number To Text

This tool helps to convert a given number into its textual equivalent.

Specify which kind of conversion you want to perform:

• Simple - this might report One-Two-Three
• Extended - this might report One Hundret Twenty-Three

When specifying Simple you can additionally specify what delimeter shall be used to divide the text parts. This can be a minus (-), a comma (,), a space ( ) and more. You can additionally surround the delimeter by empty spaces.

Next specify the language to use; currently English and German are supported.

You can specify currencies to append to the text or leave a measurment empty. In case the provided Currencies are not the one you require, you can enter your own.

Finally specify the value to convert and the destination cell. You can convert a single value of the active cell or enter a new value in the textbox provided. Since the dialog stays open as long as you require it, you can select another cell anytime in the background. This allows to perform various conversions one after another. As a destination cell either use Right to Active Cell or select any other cell.

Alternatively, select a range of cells. This will convert all numbers of the selected range in one step. The range to select has to consist of one area. The range must cover one single column but can can have any number of rows. The tool will automatically adjust the selected range in case the selection violates these criteria. The resulting texts will be written to the specified destination cell and its following rows.

Note: The dialog remains open as long as you require it. Choose Cancel to close it once your work is done.

Versions:

Ver.: 2.0.20 and Ver.: 3.0.20 allow multiple values as source (a range of cells). Corrected a bug which prevented a correct conversion from numbers being greater than an Integer (this was silently solved in previous versions, too, but distorted the digital signatue of this Add-On. This version officially fixes this stupid bug).
