XLplus Add-On: Find Comments
This XLplus Add-Ons allows selecting all cells having a comment which fulfills specified criteria.
Criteria:
Shape:
You can find all comments of a specified shape. Tip: Use Shape Comments in order to adjust the shape of a comment.
Background Color:
You can find all comments having a specified background color.

Use the palette symbol to call the color picker dialog. You choose a color from all possible colors of the Operating System. |

Use the Pipette symbol to pick a color from your desktop. Using this tool you can pick the color of an existing comment and continue using it. Use a left click with your mouse in order to assign the desired color immediately. You have a total of 5 seconds for picking a color. After this time elapsed, the color under the mouse cursor will be assigned.
The current color under a moving mouse cursor will be shown immediately.
Elapsed time will be shown with a progress bar.
Tip: You want to get back the default color of comments? Simply pick a picture within the dialog from option Shape. |
Tip: Use Highlight Comments to adjust the background color of comments.
Author:
You can find all comments created by a specified Author. Note: The Author does not have to be shown within the comment, ie. the Author could have been overwritten using XLplus Add-On: Rework Comments.
Text:
You can find all comments having a specified Text. This can be a single word or several words. You can specify if in case of several words All Words or Any Word has to be given.
Area
You can specify if All Comments or just Comments of the actual Selection shall be searched.
Tip: Use this tool for creating a targeted selection of cells containing all comments you wish to rework further. Afterwards you can use XLplus Add-On: Rework Comments, in order to adapt a special set of comments, i.e. adding a date or just showing them or use Shape Comments to assign a new shape to all selected comments. Alternatively use Highlight Comments to adjust background color or font-style.
Tip: Use Selection Wizard to temporarily (or permanently) save all selected cells. Now, work with your selection as you desire it, i.e. color all cells, select them one after another, identifying all cells by their color, and adjust the comments. Finally use Selection Wizard again to remove the color marking in one step.
