Note: You can only enter one file extension at a time, i.e. enter ZIP in order to browse for all archive files with the file extension ZIP.
Analysis
Enable this in order to get an analysis of your data. Select by which information you like to analyse your data.
Ex.: To analyse who is the person using the most disk space on your file server, select By Author. This will create a chart giving you the required details.
The Report
The Tool will always create a new spreadsheet, listing all found files plus detailed information about each file. The first column contains a link to the file found - you can click on it in order to open the file. The following columns list additional information, i.e. the date the file was created or changed, the type of file, its Author, available comments and more.
The report already contains an AutoFilter for every column which allows to easily find information of interest, i.e. all files of a specific Author or date.
You can use the sort option of the Data menu in order to sort your list of files in your prefered way, hide columns if to prepare a print out and rework the file as any other Excel spreadsheet.
In case option Analysis was enabled, it will be placed on sheet 2. Its underlying data is placed on sheet 3.
Note: The reports level of details depends on the data given within a file plus the Operating System (precisely the File System) used. In case certain details are not displayed, they simply are not available or cannot be retrieved. In case data is placed in the wrong column, your operating system reports them in a different way than Windows 2000 or Windows XP do. You then have to manually reorder the data.
Note: In case you are using a Windows NT 4.0 client, you have to have the Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher installed in order to load the entire Add-On: Basic II.
