XLplus Add-On: Extract Information Wizard

This Tool creates one of three functions, which extract information of a given cells content. You can create a function which extracts information from

• the left
• the middle
• the right

of a cell.

Usage

Whenever you have to extract information of various cells which is structured by repeating characters, use this Tool.

Ex.: You wish to extract Lastname, Firstname and Middle Name or the Domain Name of an Internet address.

In these examples we extracted information from left, middle and right. To do so we specified First and Last Characters as follows:

Since information is extracted by functions, you can easily extract information from a bigger amount of cells.

Tip: Use the Cell Reference Wizard, in order to convert all cell references of the created function to relative addresses before you apply the function to other cells. Doing so, allows to drag down the function and have automatically adjust the references the functions use.
